Prayer Trip: Impression 2An impression of the route of Prayer in the provinces of Limburg and Brabant, The Netherlands – Friday 25 May 2007
We were reflecting on Habakkuk 2. 1a “I will stand on my watch..” 2.2 a “Then the Lord replied: Write down the revelation…” In Habakkuk 2.14 we see “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea”. There was much water. Leaving Groeningen we travelled towards Stevensbeek , Sint Antonis, Ledeacker, Rijkevort, Haps, Sint Agatha, taking a barge over the Maas to Middelaar, going on to Plasmoelen, Milsbeek, Heijen over the Maas again to Vortum Mullem and returning to Groeningen. There was more water. In these 12 towns with a population of over 22.000 people, there are as far as we know two evangelical Christians. In Middelaar we sensed that somehow God was doing something special. We are not sure what. In general, it appeared as though the large black clouds were also in the heavens. We felt as if the people were starving for the knowledge of the Lord. In one town, we went into a church, where the bible was open. We read from the bible and prayed. The church was magnificent and could seat 700 people or more. We had a strong impression of good traditions, rituals and culture yet no one understanding what the real purpose was. It was like an impressive museum. The scriptures from Habakkuk came back to us clearly: “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea”. We believe this will happen. Pray for it to come about. |
Big dark clouds rolled in and the thunder began. Soon after, a torrential downpour of rain hit us. This all took place as we begin to pray.
